The Center partners with a variety of community organizations and programs that offer services that support our mission . This includes: Senior Nutrition, Meals on Wheels, Senior Information and Assistance, blood pressure checks, foot care, AARP Tax Aide, AARP Driver Safety classes, Statewide Health Insurance Benefits Assistance (SHIBA), the Chronic Disease Self-Management Program, Social Security Assistance workshops, the Washington Oldtime Fiddlers Association and more. We operate a free medical lending library, collect food for local banks each week, and have an Abundance Table with free items.
Blood Pressure Checks
- 10:30am to 12 noon the first and third Thursdays of the month.
Free blood pressure checks are done at the Center by Providence Sound Home Care & Hospice. Occasionally they have a scheduling conflict, so please call ahead if you a making a special trip to the Center for this free service.
Senior Nutrition Program
Senior Services for South Sound (SSSS) operates their Senior Nutrition Program for South Mason County using the Mason County Senior Activity Center's commercial kitchen and Dining Room. Their program includes the Senior Lunch Program that serves lunch at the Center and Meals on Wheels which provides meals delivered to homebound seniors.
Deborah Del Bosque is the Senior Nutrition Site Manager in Shelton and can be reached directly at 360-426-3697 for question, to arrange home delivery and to volunteer as a kitchen assistance or Meals on Wheels driver.

Meals on Wheels
This program delivers meals to homebound low-income seniors. The meals are packaged and delivered by volunteers under Deborah's supervision. A variety of hot and frozen meals are provided depending on the recipient's location and the day of the week.
Funding
The Senior Nutrition Program receives funding from the Lewis, Mason and Thurston County Area Agency on Aging: USDA; individual and corporate donations and grants. Senior Services for South Sound does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, gender, age, sexual orientation or disability.
Foot Care
Michelle Gamber is licensed by the state to provide Foot Care. She soaks feet, trims nails, and takes care of corns and callouses. The cost of this service is only $17.00. Michele has been providing this service at The Center for eight years and she is available by appointment on the first and third Wednesday; and the second and fourth Tuesday of the month.
If you would like an appointment, please call The Center. Michelle is usually booked a month in advance, so call well in advance of when you would like to come in for Foot Care.
Free Medical Lending Library
Borrow walkers, toilet seat boosters, wheel chairs, grabbers, etc. from our lending library at no charge. Limited and changing supplies are available.
